Arvalin consists of the active ingredient zinc phosphide applied to cornmeal. The baits are consumed by the pests.
The zinc phosphide is also gassed by soil moisture and because it is heavier than air it is drawn down the tunnels, killing the pest by inhalation in pulmonary oedema.
Life expectancy: 0 days.
20-30 g/m2 in places where horse crickets roam, 2-3 grains/holes at 5-10 kg/ha outside populated areas against field bollworm.

Use recommendations:
To control horse crickets, spread baits in the burrows and on the ground surface, preferably in the late afternoon or at dusk on warm moist soil, then immediately apply 3-5 cm deep.
Wait two days after rain or thorough irrigation before treating.
For mealy bug control, baits should be placed in occupied holes, i.e. holes that have been trodden in the previous day and opened by the pest the following day.
It is worth re-trampling treated holes for better effectiveness.
Application should be carried out with rubber gloves on, using only a spoon or Arvalin dispenser.
